Scrapbooking For Your Family: Made Easy! (And Cheaply!)

I sparked this idea when I went to Emily Flake's baptism. Verena had made a binder full of Emily's life (pictures, documents, etc.). She had it out on display while people were at her baptism, so we could look through and see Emily's life history. So cute!!!!

Scrapbooking is such a duanting task at times! Let me know what you think of this idea:

Materials:

-One 3-Ring Binder (Large)
-Several Plastic Page Protectors (to insert into the binder)
-Scrapbook paper/Colored paper
-Pen/Pencil
-Other special documents (to keep as a memory)

Instructions:

1) Place all the page protectors into the binder.
2) Print out pictures to scrapbook. (don't overwhelm yourself here, pick your very, top favorites!)
3) Paste the pictures to the scrapbook paper. (You may write a few lines beside each picture)
4) Slip it inside the page protector of the binder! Or slip in other memories (e.g. birth certificate).
5) Just keep adding to your binder as you have more memories to keep.

**Voila!**

How Many Do I Make?

I plan to make a family binder to keep for myself (I may end up with one family binder for every few years...) :-) And then I plan to make at least one binder per child, and give that to them as a gift at there wedding or when they'll appreciate it--haha!

Wanna Go the Extra Mile?

--> Make a CD with the pictures that are in the binder (plus any extras). This way the pictures are there handy if you need to use them again, and you don't have to go searching for them or have to scan them! --> Slip the CD into the end of the binder in a CD case and page protector.

What Do you Think? Please comment with more ideas!!!

  1. Sounds like a great idea! Scrap booking is so overwhelming for me that I never do it. This sounds doable. I would suggest higher quality paper though, not just construction paper.
